IBM and PG lead U.S. equities resurgence

U.S. equities advanced early in Wednesday trading as lingering anxiety amongst traders was eased by strong earnings. International Business Machines Corp (IBM) and Procter & Gamble (PG) were two of the main catalysts with both seeing their shares values increase. The former outperformed its estimated profits while the latter beat the upper end of its forecasted sales. Consumer staples lead the markets with an uptick of 1.4%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average saw an increase of 1.1% while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were both up 0.6%.
